Recipe: ham cream sauce for pasta dishes | 5 minute recipe

Today I'll show you my recipe for the most delicious ham cream sauce, perfect for all pasta dishes or noodle dishes!


  • 200 g thinly sliced ​​cooked ham or chicken breast slices
  • 1 small onion (finely diced)
  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)
  • 150 ml of cream
  • 500 ml milk (cold)
  • 80 g butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 pinch of grated nut
  • Salt & pepper to taste


  1. First, the boiled ham is chopped up. The best way to do this is to simply stack the slices and cut the ham into small cubes. If you want to forego pork, you can have chicken breast cuts here. That works just as well!
  2. Put the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion and the glass of garlic in it. You should do the whole thing over medium heat so that the butter does not get too hot and burn.
  3. When the time comes, the pieces of ham are added and briefly seared.
  4. Then add the flour and sweat it for about 1 minute - stirring constantly. In principle, the whole thing is no different than roux, so please make sure to stir well so that nothing burns.
  5. Then the roux is extinguished with the cold milk. The milk should therefore be nice and cold so that there are no lumps and the liquid has time to thicken. If the milk were hot, a thick lump would form in the pot 😉
  6. The cream is of course also added, as well as all the spices.
  7. After simmering for 3-4 minutes, the delicious sauce is ready and can then be served with your favorite pasta.
  8. Tip: My family and I really like the sauce with tortellini 😉
