Cycling at the Olympics

Olympic Games - Jeux Olympiques - Juegos OlĂmpicos - Olympic Spelen

The Summer Olympics: The greatest for track cyclists, for a long time not of great importance for road cyclists, since until 1992 only amateurs were allowed. But since 1996, the Olympic gold medal on the road has also been in great demand among professionals. The 100km team time trial, however, was unfortunately abolished in favor of the individual time trial.

The 2016 Olympics are hosted in Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, the road bike races promise highly interesting profiles in front of a breathtaking backdrop. Due to the ascent to Vista Chinesa from sea level to 500m, the pure sprinters waved them off early.
