Windows Change the IP address in Windows 10 - this is how it works


Using the IP address or Internet Protocol Address of a computer or smartphone, it can be clearly determined where you are currently as a user of a network. This address consists of four blocks of numbers from 0 to 255, each separated by a period. Each network address can only be assigned once. If you now want to surf the Internet anonymously, you should regularly change your IP address or use tools such as NordVPN, which will assign you a new IP address. Note: Check with your Internet service provider to see if a static IP address is available for your tariff. For example, Vodafone does not offer an option for static IP addresses in its private tariffs.

  1. Open the Control panel.
  2. Now click on "View network status and tasks".
  3. Select the entry "Change adapter settings" out.
  4. Make one Right click on the appropriate network and click on "Settings".
  5. Then do one Double click on the entry "Internet Protocol, Version 4 (TC / IPv4)".
  6. Now put the mark at "Use the following IP address:"and give your new IP address a. This could look like this:
